    BYYB News

The paper models available for download have recently Exhibit 1.JPG (16634 bytes)received some public notice at the Western Ship Model Conference. David Okamura had downloaded the paper models and was very impressed. He had conversed with me a few times to let me know how much he enjoyed them and that he entered them in the show.

David wrote: "As I mentioned earlier, your models were quite popular at the Western Ship Model Conference and Exhibit.  I thought you might want to see what they looked like in my display.  Thanks for designing these wonderful models and making them available.  I talked to two teachers during the show, and they thought that paper boat models would be an ideal project for their students (one deals with developmentally disabled kids, and they have really shown improvements through this hobby).

Exhibit 3.JPG (11425 bytes) It is a good feeling to know that people are enjoying these models, and of course, this is some good advertising for the BYYB and the Stevensons since the websites are printed on the hull of each boat.

Memberships and merchandise can now be put on your credit card by simply signing up for a Pay Pal account. The service is free and is useful for many things besides the BYYB. If you sign up now you will receive $5 in your account plus $5 will go to the BYYB. A win win situation. To sign up for Pay Pal use this link: https://secure.paypal.com/refer/pal=sailor138%40netzero.net

Unfortunately Pay Pal only works in the US.

There is now an online membership form to help speed up the process of joining. Simply fill out the form and submit. Your payment will still need to be sent through paypal. http://byyb.org/join/

A Merchandise Page is now available also. http://byyb.org/merchandise/

At this time there are only shirts available, but keep an eye on the website as it will be changing all the time. BYYB Caps will be available on the merchandise page soon.

There are now two official fleets in the BYYB. The South Dakota Fleet and the Lone Star Fleet. http://byyb.org/fleets/

That’s all the news for now; keep an eye on this page, as addendums will be added to the news as they happen, not just with each issue.
